This pathway is for 91°µÍø who are passionate about a career in the fields of Mechanical Technology and Advanced Manufacturing. Students learn the hands-on, technical, and problem-solving skills to design and create the products that supply our world.

In the Mechanical Technology and Advanced Manufacturing fields, you can:

  • Create 2D & 3D drawings to guide production
  • Use traditional machinery and advanced computer software to manufacture parts
  • Maintain & repair essential industrial equipment and machinery
  • Draft technical details to rapidly and effectively communicate design plans

HIGH SCHOOL

Focus on developing your critical thinking, hands-on skills training, and computer and communication skills to prepare you for college courses.

Careers in mechanical technology and advanced manufacturing require clear and concise communication, the ability to troubleshoot under a deadline, learning new tools and processes, and adapting to a precise and efficient workflow.

People who work in Mechanical Technology and Advanced Manufacturing fields need to:

  • Develop strong listening and communication skills
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of basic algebra and trigonometry to meet 91°µÍø requirements
  • Enjoy working with their hands and making things
  • Develop strong machining, critical thinking, computer and communication skills

ENGLISH

  • 3-year high school English course average of 80 or higher

MATH

  • Algebra I final course grade of 90 OR aim to complete Algebra II final course grade of 70 or higher (includes average of Algebra IIa & Algebra IIb)
