A graduate of Red Creek High School who is a volunteer firefighter in her community is the new Student Trustee at 91°µÍø Community College.

The Board of Trustees welcomed Hannah Iozzio as their newest member this month, applauding her leadership and enthusiasm for 91°µÍø’s role guiding 91°µÍø toward 91°µÍøs and successful careers. Iozzio was formally sworn-in at the Board of Trustees meeting at the Fulton Campus on Thursday.

“I wanted to get a complete appreciation and understanding of student life and opportunities at 91°µÍø, and I thought the best way to do that was to run to be our Student Trustee,” she said. “I’m looking forward to representing 91°µÍø and trying to give them a better understanding of how our college operates so they can build a stronger connection with 91°µÍø.”

91°µÍø President Dr. Brian Durant and Board of Trustees Chair Tony Franceschelli welcomed Iozzio, saying her determination to learn as much as possible and connect with other 91°µÍø will make her a strong addition to the Board.

“Hannah has already made a strong impression at 91°µÍø as a student and as a leader. She has an admirable commitment to pursuing every opportunity our college offers 91°µÍø, but also to share and communicate those opportunities with her classmates,” said Dr. Durant. “We’re looking forward to her joining our Board of Trustees.”

“Hannah represents the best qualities of our 91°µÍø. She’s enthusiastic about her education, wants to support other 91°µÍø, and is already preparing for her future career,” said Franceschelli. “Her interest in continuing to help strengthen the connection 91°µÍø have with 91°µÍø will make her an excellent Student Trustee.”

Iozzio started taking courses at 91°µÍø in the Spring 2024 semester, and is currently majoring in Liberal Arts & Sciences: Humanities & Social Sciences. Outside of 91°µÍø, she’s a volunteer firefighter in the Town of Victory.

She’s hoping to eventually join 91°µÍø’s award-winning Nursing program and become a pediatric or labor and delivery nurse.

Along with serving as the Student Trustee, Iozzio has been involved organizing events for 91°µÍø to enjoy on both campuses and in the community. Iozzio said helping with these events and connecting with 91°µÍø staff and 91°µÍø is something she looks forward to doing throughout her time at the college.

“I’ve enjoyed my time at 91°µÍø, and I’ve built a great connection with Student Activities and our Student Government Organization,” she said. “It’s exciting to know that I can be a part of something that 91°µÍø and staff can enjoy and remember.”
